WHAT IS A DISTRICT ATTORNEY?

The District Attorney is the top law enforcement official in the county and represents the state of California in the prosecution of all criminal offenses.  Elected by the voters, the DA is responsible for ensuring that justice is served and county resources are used responsibly.  

The Marin County District Attorney has an annual budget of $17.8 million and approximately 80 employees.
